QUALITY OF ORGANISATIONAL PERFORMANCE in quality MPM management
Organisational performance - checklist
The Organisational Performance
criterion of quality MPM management evaluates the success of the
MPM unit in achieving key objectives.
Organisational Performance is
interpreted in a broad sense, including benefits to all
stakeholders including residents, councillors, MPM unit employees,
suppliers of products, services and facilities to the MPM unit,
interest groups such as animal welfare groups, and so on.
Ask
Does the MPM unit achieve its key
objectives?
Some specific questions to be
considered are:
1. What are the key objectives of
the MPM unit in both the short- and long-term?
2. How is progress towards these
objectives measured? How were these performance measures chosen?
3. What are the results of the
MPM unit to date?
4. How do these results compare
with other comparable municipalities, and with best practice on
a national and international scale?
5. Do trend figures indicate an
improvement in key indicators over time? Which changes in key
indicator values can be attributed to changes in the way that
the MPM unit is managed and operates?
6. What factors outside the MPM
unit have affected the key indicator values for the previous
year? What impact are these factors likely to have over the next
three years, and how will they influence the activities of the
unit? Are the trends in these outside factors being monitored?
7. How is the MPM unit using key
performance indicators to improve its performance? Can the use
of key performance indicators be improved?
