Brittany

The Brittany is the national dog of France and originates from the province of Bretagne, a rugged peninsula surrounded by the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean.

Although often referred to as a spaniel the Brittany is in fact more akin to a classic pointer.

Small, compact and athletic, the Brittany is an intelligent and active dog needing both mental and physical stimulation without which they may become destructive from sheer boredom. They have great endurance and stamina and can excel at not only field and retrieving trials but also obedience and agility.

Brittany’s get on well with other dogs and are great with children although their exuberant nature can make them a little overwhelming for smaller children. They need regular exercise with plenty of room to run.
