Animals in traffic emergencies

Abstract

A cattle truck rollover in they City of Melville involved City of Melville Staff, police, Estate Emergency Service, Murdoch Veterinary Hospital staff, RSPCA and the cartage company. This paper details the capture of 42 cattle (one after 9 months on the run) and the use of the correct authorities and equipment.

Peter is currenlty the Ranger Services Cor-ordinator for the City of Melville. He has held this position for the last four and a half years. Prior to this he worked as the Senior Aministration Officer, Shire of Ashburton in Tom Price and has worked for the cities of Belmont and Fremantle as an administration officeras a Diploma in Local Government (Clerk) and was Secretary/treasurer of the Pilbarra Regional Tourism Associaiton for a two year term. He is a Member of the Sate Institute of Municipal Management and was representative to the Acting Learning Management Challenge in Canberra 1997
