Pet identification: microchips, collars, tags and the Wood Green Animal Shelters' National Pet Register.R.L. Leather
AbstractThis paper looks at animal identification systems, particularly tags and microchips. Wood Green Animal Shelters' National Pet Register (NPR) system is discussed and put forward as a method of mandatory registration for animals. The progress of microchipping is viewed against shortcomings of standardisation. The start of microchip acceptance is noted. Future prospects for progress of identification and registration appear satisfactory.
